Voice & Exit Teams Up with Peace Through Commerce for Special Event
Peace, freedom, and the end of so-called intractable problems like poverty, inequality, human trafficking… complex? Yes. Impossible? No.
These are the kinds of societal challenges that can’t be solved by writing checks or making single-issue policy decisions. And they are the problems we come together each year to reimagine at Voice & Exit, because we understand that to truly change something, we must build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
To find the solutions to complex challenges and maximize human flourishing, we know we have to start thinking about teamwork at a much larger scale, and designing new avenues for collective participation.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Peace Through Commerce for a transformative weekend experience combining the disruptive creativity of Voice & Exit with a model for solving complex, real-world dilemmas.
Peace Through Commerce is a strategic, global and educational nonprofit organization that believes in the power of commerce to create positive social change. PTC engages business leaders, Nobel laureates, activists and policy makers at the highest level, using breakthrough technology and new thinking to solve the world’s most challenging problems.
PTC’s “Matrix of Peace,” an integral model for thinking about global development and peace, introduces frameworks to create long-term, positive social change and prosperity. It identifies the best practices for peacebuilding within and among the key subsystems of commerce, civil society, and law. It is also a visual teaching tool to illustrate how the systems combine to co-produce peace.
PTC has developed and showcased the MOP framework with partners in Conscious Capitalism®, Barrett’s Value System, Spiral DynamicsTM, and — most recently — the Nobel Peace Prize Forum focused on child trafficking. Today, the group is working on the problem of child trafficking by exploring breakthrough solutions.
