Academic philosopher Dylan Evans, worried about the end of civilization, believed he had a moral imperative to live a humbler life while preparing for the worst. Evans had come to believe that the world was going to run out of resources and he wanted to get out in front of it. He wanted not only to live more sustainably, but to form a closer community with folks who could form a Utopia of their very own.

I don’t want to ruin the story for you. But things don’t end well for Dylan Evan’s Utopia experiment. In this Voice & Exit talk, Dylan recounts his tale, as well as the lessons of a world going headlong into modernity.
