Tristan Roberts was a ‘golden guinea pig’ with the ill-fated Ascendance Biomedical group of biohackers. His work on a gene therapy for treating and preventing HIV led him to founding the non-profit Research Collective. He studied cognition and consciousness at Reed College, and now applies his knowledge of systems towards reforming the biomedical research space via emerging cryptographic technologies such as ‘decentralized autonomous organizations’ and ‘knowledge markets’.
