Future Frontiers embodies its own philosophy called “Optimistic Futurism,” based on a worldview that we are not just “along for the ride,” but are active creators of our own reality. The attitude we bring to this act of creation determines what kind of world we live in. Through understanding this, we are capable of reimagining our lives and the institutions that shape us.
The annual Future Frontiers event is designed as an immersive, narrative-driven experience of the future. Attendees can explore the 8 Frontiers and get a taste of what the alchemists of the future are cooking up on the fringes of possibility.
Mohammed Ali said, “impossible” is for those “who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.” We maintain an open-mind to possibilities--even if they challenge our long held beliefs.
We don’t waste our time complaining about the old, but focus all of our energy on creating new models and solutions that make the “problems” of our world obsolete. A futurist does not predict the future, he/she creates it.
We are not about novelty for its own sake. The latest gadgets and toys are fine, but we’re more interested in asking: “How does this contribute to human wellbeing?”
Future Frontiers was started in 2013 by Max Borders and Seth Blaustein who were fed up with incremental, outdated models for creating positive personal and social change. Future Frontiers was born and has evolved into a growing community of practical utopians willing to think subversive thoughts and push the limits of what’s possible.
Seth Blaustein is a trans-media producer with a passion for creating immersive stories that spark personal transformation that leads to social impact. As a polymath with a dynamic set of skills, he wears the hats of being a futurist, entrepreneur, filmmaker & creative director.
As co-founder of Future Frontiers and luminary in the non-profit space, Max works daily for peace, freedom and abundance for all people. Max is Executive Director of Social Evolution, a new non-profit organization dedicated to "innovating around power." Max is also Director of Idea Accounts at Emergent Order and former Editor and Director of content for The Foundation for Economic Education. Max is also the author of Superwealth (2013) and wrote a chapter in New Threats to Freedom (2010) alongside Christopher Hitchens and David Mamet.
David is the Chief Marketing Officer for Future Frontiers and also is responsible for the design and development of the Future Frontiers website. Over the past few years David has helped small businesses grow through his expertise in digital marketing and SEO.
